Thank you for joining me to the weekly LonelyBond blog, where each week I talk about the struggles, achievements and behind the scenes of making the game come to life :)
Remember how I've said last week that something I've worked on isn't ready yet?
Well, now it's ready enough to show off a little bit!
As you might be able to see in the test zone gif above, the text system is starting to pay off, by allowing me to create text visual effect. So now when Jez is walking behind us, he leaves a trail of 'step visual effects' on the screen.
I'm not so sure I'm going to keep this effect, but I would love to iterate on it some more whenever I have some time :)
Also - I've changed the textbox to be more to my liking. It's a bit simpler than that overly green mess that I had beforehand.
And lastly, you can talk to Jez while he is following you! (and your character will move automatically to a position where it doesn't obscure your view of Jez).
Soon he'll have more to say than 'wuddup?', but everything at it's time.
I've been working some more on advancing the plot of the game to a programmable state, but it will take a bit longer before I'm done with that. Up until than, you'll see more 'random improvements' that are needed for the game.
Tell me what you think about all of these changes if you have some time :)
And with that, I'll leave you for another week! See you soon!
